Quote ...and that they all may be one...
Are we leaving the Dreams of our fathers? Are we leaving the visions of the founders of the Church, with the slogan quoted above from the source BOOK? Its really a blessing that the Presbyterian University College (PUC) has been a reality now and I urge all to give it the maximum helping hand for its rapid growth and development. You know and we all know that the Ramseyer Training Centre (RTC) has been the bedrock of education and sustainance of the discipline and presbytereanism in Ghana and beyond. The two facts above is undisputable...... no matter the forum being discussed, but, my greatest worry is that, should these two great institutions continue to operate in isolation and on parrall lines on the same campus and the same premises? Can't we merge and manage them more efficiently, can't they be as one institution with different departmental heads, since these two are governed by the Presbyterian Church of Ghana? I think its worth merging, even though the RTC was first to be created, its worth being considered as a major department under the current PUC, with programmes being run under the same PUC accreditation, hence, moving most of the Certificate and Diploma Courses up to the next level. Anyway, what's your opinion on this? Contribute online and or reach me via alouis72@yahoo.com Cheers and Stay Blessed

it is high time puc and rtc come together under one umbrella and be on a very good relation terms. for instance puc students who were being housed by rtc including myself have being ejected from their hostel with reasons best known to them. if puc and rtc were under one management, things wouldn't have happened this way. i will like the management of the Presbyterian church to consider bringing puc and rtc under the same management and "that they all may be one" according to the Presbyterian motto. « Last edit by Joy on Fri Sep 12, 2008 6:12 pm. »

hmm two kings ruling the same kingdom....who makes the policies and who implements them? but in all cases, i don't think ejecting the students from frimpong hostel had anything to do with the friction i hear it was for the fact that the programmes being organised by the RTC is expanding and many more people are joining, i also hear that the schedules for the programmes have slightly changed to unfortunately conflict with the regular semester periods of the university.... « Last edit by elelart on Tue Sep 23, 2008 8:32 am. »

I will be very happy to see RTC n PUC united as one Institute so that PUC can benefit full from RTC's infrastructures and goodwill. In as much as we want to bring them together we should find answers to the following questions:- 1. Who can be a student of RTC ? 2. Who can be a student of PUC? 3. What are their VISIONS n MISSIONS? 4. What are their Source of funds? 5. Will their sponsors still support them after coming together? 6. What is the school fees of both institution's? 7. Can they still attract their individual students under one roof? I think finding answers to these questions will really help in bringing the two institutions under one management. It is my prayer that this will happen in the near future. But until then, I will be happy if both students and staffs of RTC and PUC will see them selves children from one parent(ie PCG) but with different Missions in Life. ie Unity In Diversity!!!!!

Great insights

Hey, I think we have good answers to all these questions. What is your point of view on these, lets discuss some more. I think it will help if the moderator of the site can summarise these discussions and forward copies to the authorities in PUC & RTC You know! the future and success of these institutions and the PCG can be imparted greatly through these actions.
Stay Blessed

ok...good questions about resource mobilisation and utilisation ....but i think we must pay close attention to issues involving power and control before thinking about resource channels and channeling ...and i don't think "merging" will be as easy as "coexisting".. consider this carefully.... why don't we agree to share common infrastructure.... why don't we agree to advertise both activities on common platforms why don't we agree to find periodical times when RTC and PUC students interact... ...believe me merging is quite disturbing...especially when it involves relinquishing of authority and other sensitive issues like the following who steps down?.... who becomes the boss?... which administrative/organisational structure do we adopt?... which of the two controls/possesses more resource?... what do you think pals?.... « Last edit by elelart on Sat Nov 08, 2008 6:09 am. »

If RTC considers itself an Esau whose glory Jacob (PUC) has smuggled away, then we cannot hope for unification between these two long lost brothers.

I just want to do something special that will surprise people and that they would love and find it awesome. In that case I could be known by the community as a not-bad track maker. That's all what I want. And I really want to make these 9 tracks.
