Programme Location:: Akuapem Campus, Akropong 

This programme is a multi - disciplinary in its orientation. It draws on insight from political science, environmental science, economics, sociology, religion and culture, agriculture, international and social relations and many others to elucidate a good understanding of the problems confronting poor nations and societies in their quest for development. Above all, it provides students with opportunity to draw on the understanding so acquired to identify possible solutions to the problems identified. This programme combines theory with practice as students are attached with development agencies during the long vacation for for pratical experience to expose them to the realities of the theories being thought.

After completing a course of study in Development Studies, one has various options for career and academic progression as indicated below:

• Development Consultants
• Career in both local and international development institutions and NGOs such as Action Aid, Water Aid, USAID, CIDA, UNDP, UNICEF, ODA, etc...
• Development Analysts with the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC)
• Development Planning Officer with andy MDA of the state
• Research Assistants
• Social and Environmental Impact Analysts
• Many other job oppenings within the development sphere
