PCG Donates Church Building to PUCG for Accra Office

The Presbyterian Church of Ghana has donated a building situated at Kuku-Hill, Osu in Accra to the Presbyterian University College Ghana to be developed into an Accra Office for the University.The Donation was as a result of a request from the University’s Management to the Church for an Accra Office.

The Moderator of Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Right Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Martey who is the Chancellor of the University handed over the keys to the building to the University. The Moderator promised that the Church will continue to support the university in its quest to become the preferred private university in the country and the sub region.

The Chairman of the University Council, Prof. Edwin Akonno Gyasi, receiving the keys to the building thanked the Moderator and the Presbyterian Church for the vision to set up the University to augment government’s effort to improve higher education in Ghana. He promised the effective use of the facility for the continued progress of the University.

Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Adow Obeng, the President of Presbyterian University College, Ghana in his remarks thanked the Presbyterian Church for responding to the University’s request for an Accra Office.

The facility will enable the Presbyterian University College to establish a presence in Accra which will enhance the visibility of the University.

He said that the current building will be demolished and a Modern Office complex built for use by the University. The Architectural drawing is almost ready with provision for a Conference Room, a Secretariat, an office space for University Council, Management and a Guest wing as well as an Office space to be rented out to generate funds for the University.

He appealed to individuals, groups and Presbyteries to help improve on infrastructure need of the University to give it the desired face-lift as one of the best Universities in Ghana.
