Mathematics is concerned with finding patterns and solving problems. In our everyday activities we encounter patterns which can be described using mathematics. We use mathematics to identify these patterns, solve problems, inspire new technologies and make informed decisions.<\/p>\n
Through this degree programme, you will come to appreciate the intrinsic beauty of pure mathematics rather than focus solely on applications. The Presbyterian University Collage, Ghana(PUCG) is renowned for research in algebra, combinatorics and logic.<\/p>\n

WASSCE\/SSSCE Applicants<\/strong><\/p>\n A credit in Core English, Core Mathematics, and Integrated Science, and any three elective subjects including Mathematics, with an aggregate score of 24 or better in the WAEC Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations. Applicants should have aggregate score of 24 (A-D) for SSSCE and 36 (A1 \u2013 C6) for WASSCE or better in the SSSCE\/WASSCE. ICT applicants without Elective Mathematics but have grade B\/B2 or better in core Mathematics may be considered.<\/p>\n GBCE\/ABCE Applicants<\/strong><\/p>\n Holders of GBCE Certificate must have Credit passes in five (5) subjects including Mathematics, English and Social Studies or Integrated Science in the General Business Certificate Examination (GBCE). In addition, the applicant must have passes in three (3) subjects; at least, one of the passes should be Grade D or better in the Advanced Business Certificate Examinations (ABCE). Holders of only GBCE Certificate CANNOT be admitted on the basis of that qualification alone.<\/p>\n Advanced Level Certificate Applicants<\/strong><\/p>\n 5 Credits (including English Language, Mathematics, an Arts subject and a Science subject) in the WAEC General Certificate of Education (GCE) Ordinary Level Examination; and 3 passes at the Advanced Level of the GCE. One of the Advanced Level passes should be a grade D or better. A pass in General Paper must also be obtained.<\/p>\n Mature Applicants<\/strong><\/p>\n Mature Applicants must have attained the age of 25 years or above and must pass an aptitude test in English and Mathematics.<\/p>\n HND Applicants<\/strong><\/p>\n HND holders with at least Second Class Lower in addition to the basic qualification at SSSCE\/OL\/WASSCE may be admitted to Second Year of the programme after passing an interview. First Class applicants in the relevant area may be considered for the Third year of the programme.<\/p>\n International Students<\/strong><\/p>\n International Students may be admitted on the basis of qualification from their home country for which the National Accreditation Board\/West African Examination Council shall determine equivalences. Evidence of proficiency in English Language will be required in the case of applicants from non-English speaking countries.<\/p>\n BSc.
