Dr Samuel Owusu-Akyem is ambitious, proactive and a visionary leader. Efficient, effective communicator, strategic, analytical, creative and innovative, hardworking, selfless, strong inter-personal skills. He hold Teachers\u2019 Certificate \u201cA\u201d from Abetifi Presbyterian Training College and has taught for over ten years both in Primary and Junior High Schools in Ghana. Dr Owusu-Akyem holds PhD from Stanford University, California. \u00a0He is currently the Head of Department and a Lecturer at the Department of Nursing, Faculty of Health & Medical Sciences, Presbyterian University College, Asante Akyem Campus, Agogo. He has previously worked at the following places in the United Kingdom; North London Forensic Service, Barnet, Enfield and Haringey NHS Mental Health Trust, Service Manager Baytree Community Care London Limited, Camden and Islington NHS Mental Health Trust, Community Psychiatric Practitioner, West London NHS Mental Health Trust. He has also worked as Associate Lecturer Middlesex University, where he obtained his BSc (Hons) Nursing, Registered Nurse Mental Health and MSc Mental Health Interventions where he specialised as a Psychiatric Practitioner. He joined the Presbyterian University College, Ghana in October 2012. Dr Owusu-Akyem has attended and presented at various workshops and conferences both Ghana and Abroad. He is a registered Member of Nursing & Midwifery Council, Ghana, Member Nursing & Midwifery Council, UK. Member Royal College of Nursing, UK and Associate Member Royal College of Psychiatrists, UK.
\nDr Owusu-Akyem is a regular discussant of Home Base TV on Psychiatric Issues as well as Adom FM, Ash FM Radio, Kumasi and Atwimansa FM Oda, on matters of Psychiatry. He is also regular member of performance review committee of Ankaful Psychiatric Hospital. Dr Samuel Owusu-Akyem is a Christian an Elder of the Church of Pentecost International.<\/p>\n
