A delegation from the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) has paid a courtesy visit to the Management of the Presbyterian University, Ghana (PUG) as part of activities leading up to the 25th General Assembly at Rock City, Kwahu-Nkwatia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The delegation, led by Rev. Ebenezer Acheampong Asiedu, Chairperson of the Akuapem Presbytery, was warmly received by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor John Ofosu-Anim, and members of the University\u2019s Management at the Senate Chamber, Okwahu Campus on Wednesday, August 13, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In his welcome remarks, the Vice-Chancellor expressed deep appreciation to the General Assembly for its continued support of the University\u2019s mission and development. He especially acknowledged the Moderator, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, and expressed gratitude for the GH\u00a2100,000 donation he made during the University\u2019s last Congregation ceremony in April.<\/p>\n\n\n

Prof. Ofosu-Anim highlighted the vital role that the Church\u2019s support has played in PUG\u2019s growth, noting significant achievements across its five campuses \u2014 with particular mention of the Asante Akyem Campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He further shared that Management is currently exploring the possibility of establishing an additional campus through a potential collaboration with a facility owner at Bana Hills in Odumase-Krobo. However, he clarified that this initiative is still under deliberation and no final decision has been made.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Reiterating the University\u2019s strategic vision, the Vice-Chancellor stated that PUG is committed to becoming a leader in postgraduate education. In line with this vision, he noted that in addition to the existing nine postgraduate programmes, four more are in development and currently undergoing the accreditation process with the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC).<\/p>\n\n\n

In his response, Rev. Acheampong Asiedu commended the University\u2019s leadership for their accomplishments and reaffirmed the Church\u2019s unwavering commitment to the growth and sustainability of PUG. He emphasized PCG\u2019s readiness to continue providing guidance and resources to help the University remain a centre of excellence in tertiary education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Key areas of discussion during the meeting included infrastructure development, strategic affiliations with other colleges, and the intensification of the University\u2019s outreach activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Both parties expressed optimism that the strengthened collaboration between the Church and the University will lead to more impactful initiatives in the coming years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The visit concluded with a prayer led by Rev. Bosea-Gyinantwi for the University\u2019s staff and students, invoking God\u2019s continued guidance and blessings on their work.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
