A major new teaching facility was dedicated at the Asante Akyem Campus of Presbyterian University, Ghana, on 24 July 2026, strengthening the University’s practical training capacity for health and allied programmes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The colourful dedication ceremony brought together staff, students, clergy, Nanaom, and invited guests to celebrate the opening of a purpose-built block housing modern lecture rooms, lecturers’ offices, and a fully equipped nursing and midwifery skills laboratory. The facility was developed with support from GCB Bank and Beautiful Creations Limited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana and Chancellor of Presbyterian University, Ghana, opens the door to the new lecture hall.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his address, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor John Ofosu-Anim, described the structure as \u201cforward-looking\u201d and designed to bridge theory and practice, enabling students to gain hands-on experience in a realistic learning environment. He said the skills laboratory would play a key role in preparing graduates to tackle Ghana’s complex health challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana and Chancellor of the University, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, who officiated at the dedication, praised University Management for the progress made and urged them to ensure that the education provided leads to meaningful transformation for individual students and, by extension, society. He also pledged One Hundred Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHS 100,000.00) from the Church to support the completion of the first storey of the facility. The contribution was described by the Vice-Chancellor as timely and encouraging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the dedication, the Moderator and invited guests were taken on a guided tour of the new block, where they inspected the lecture rooms, lecturers’ offices, and the fully equipped nursing and midwifery skills laboratory. Guests expressed satisfaction with the standard of the facilities and the hands-on learning opportunities they would provide for students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new block strengthens the University’s commitment to quality, practice-oriented training and will serve as an important resource for students in nursing, midwifery, and other programmes that require clinical skills practice.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
