{"id":3697,"date":"2015-09-01T20:49:26","date_gmt":"2015-09-01T20:49:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.presbyuniversity.edu.gh\/main\/?p=3697"},"modified":"2015-09-01T20:49:26","modified_gmt":"2015-09-01T20:49:26","slug":"pucg-holds-7th-annual-retreat","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.presbyuniversity.edu.gh\/site\/pucg-holds-7th-annual-retreat\/","title":{"rendered":"PUCG Holds 7TH Annual Retreat"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Presbyterian University College, Ghana has held its 7<sup>th<\/sup> annual staff retreat on the theme \u201cPUCG\u2019s Visibility and the Light of the Spirit\u201d, at the Ramseyer Training Centre at Abetifi Kwahu, from 29<sup>th<\/sup> to 30<sup>th<\/sup> August 2015.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The retreat which is organized to close the academic year and also usher in the new academic year brings together both the junior and senior staff in all the campuses of the University to seek the face of God and His direction for the ensuing year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The retreat is also used to asses both the administrative and academic work output of the University for the closing academic year and take pragmatic decisions to address concerns for a better performance in the new academic year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The topics handled at the two-day retreat were the Visibility of PUCG: The place of Christian Spirituality in the Academia; the Visibility of PUCG: Quality Service Delivery in His Light among others.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Speaking on the theme \u201cThe Visibility of PUCG: The place of Christian Spirituality in the Academia\u201d, the President of PUCG, Rev Professor Emmanuel Adow Obeng, said the retreat was to help the staff renew their Spirit, seek God\u2019s guidance, and pray and seek the direction of God so that the University could do better in the 2015\/2016 academic year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">While calling on Deans and Heads of Department to be proactive, the President implored all staff to toughen themselves for the task ahead if the University is to achieve its vision.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">He disclosed that the University, starting in the 2015\/2016 academic year, will enforce the Dress Code for both staff and students in a polite manner devoid of confrontation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Professor Frank Arku, the Vice President of PUCG, said Quality Service Delivery can be achieved only through team work, love, punctuality, meeting deadlines and timely evaluation, when he spoke on The Visibility of PUCG: Quality Service Delivery in His Light.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Professor Arku cautioned against attitudes that have the tendency to create bad image for the institution and derail the successes chalked in service delivery.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In his welcome address Mr. K.
