The\nStudents Entrepreneurship Fair (SEF) 2019 which was launched about a month ago\nby the School of Business and Economics of Presbyterian University College,\nGhana (PUCG) was officially opened on Wednesday, 27th<\/sup> February, 2019\nat the Okwahu Campus of the University.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2019 Fair is under the\ntheme \u201cGhana Beyond Aid: Promoting Student Entrepreneurial Creativity and Innovation,\u201d\nand it is scheduled to run from 26th<\/sup> February to 2nd<\/sup>\nMarch, 2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addressing\nthe gathering at the Fair, the Dean of School of Business and Economics PUCG,\nMr. Ebenezer Agyemang Badu said the SEF seeks to establish link between\nIndustry and Academia. According to him the linkage will help produce students\nwho fit into the needs of industry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Again, the SEF aims at\nexposing students to opportunities available for business starters and how to\ntake advantage of them to promote self employment which he noted is the way\nforward to dealing with the unemployment menace. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nDean of School of Business and Economics announced that in order to achieve\nthese objectives, the Management of the University has approved the SEF to be\nan annual event. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nAssociation of Ghana Industries (AGI) and the Kwahu East District Assembly\n(KEDA) are the main main partners of this year\u2019s Fair. The Fair was also\nsponsored by 12 media houses. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nDistrict Chief Executive of Kwahu East District Assembly, Mr. Isaac Agyepong\nadmonished the exhibitors to take advantage of the Fair and network to create support\nthemselves in the development of the private sector. He promised support from\nthe Kwahu East Assembly to the SEF. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nAGI Chairman for Eastern, Volta and Oti Regions, Efo Dela was full of praise\nfor the University for the Initiative to institute the SEF. He said the AGI\nwill continue to provide technical and other support to the SEF to ensure that\nit truly achieves its objectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He\ndisclosed that the AGI at the regional levels has setup the Young Entrepreneurs\nRound Table on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He said the objective\nof this project is for young people to incorporate the SDGs in their line of\nwork. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Efo\nDela made a donation of GH\u20b51,000.00 to the Fair and another GH\u20b51,000.00 to the\nquiz competition being organized by the School of Business and Economics for\nSenior High Schools in the Kwahu area. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. George Adomako, Eastern Regional Director of GEPA<\/em> <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The\nEastern Regional Director of Ghana Exports Promotion Authority (GEPA), Mr.\nGeorge Adomako urged the exhibitors who are entrepreneurs to reach out to them\nfor technical support that will help them expand their businesses to the level\nof exporting some of their products. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nGEPA team registered some of the exhibitors for future engagements regarding\ntheir products. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nPresident of PUCG, Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Adow Obeng who chaired the opening\nceremony thanked the KEDA, GEPA and AGI for the support they have given to the\nFair and hoped they would keep to their promise to continue supporting the Fair\nin subsequent years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nPresident also thanked the exhibitors for taking part in the Fair to showcase\ntheir creativity and innovation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He\nsaid one of the goals of the University is to support entrepreneurship and for\nthat matter entrepreneurship is a common course for all students of PUCG. He\nhoped the Fair would give the students the necessary exposure to become\nentrepreneurs on their own. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among\nthe exhibitors at the Fair are Databank, Kumasi Technical Institute (KTI),\nAvotrain, Abetifi Presbyterian Senior High School, students of PUCG, Atibie\nGovernment Hospital among others.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n
