The Information Technology (IT)\nUnit of the Presbyterian University College, Ghana (PUCG) is organizing a\ntwo-month free Information Technology (IT) training for the 2019 Senior High\nSchool (SHS) graduates. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The IT training which started on Tuesday\n25th<\/sup> June, 2019 at the Okwahu Campus (Abetifi Kwahu) of the\nUniversity has registered 85 participants so far. The 85 participants comprise\n38 boys and 47 girls from about 34 different SHS across the country. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The participants would be exposed to\ntopics in Introduction to Information Technology, Word Processing, Database\nusing MS. Access, Presentation Skills, Living Online (Using the Internet), and\nIntroduction to Website Design.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addressing the participants during\nthe opening ceremony held on Thursday, 27th<\/sup> June, 2019, the Head, Department\nof Business Administration, Dr. Paul Adjei Kwakwa explained the IT training is\nbeing organized for the SHS graduates in fulfillment of the University\u2019s quest\nto support the development of human resource in the local communities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Again, the free IT training is\naimed at engaging the graduates while they await their results so that they can\nupgrade the IT skills for the various opportunities available, which includes\nemployment. He therefore implored them to take the training seriously. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Registrar of PUCG, Mary Abena\nAgyepong (Mrs) who also addressed them said ICT drives the world\u2019s economy now.\nTherefore adequate knowledge in ICT is important for any student or individual\nwho wants to make impact with his creativity and innovative abilities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mrs. Mary Abena Agyepong encouraged\nthem to consciously give themselves to study while they go through the\ntwo-month training. She also implored them to observe, listen, ask questions,\nnetwork and enjoy their stay in the University. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Various Department and Unit Heads\ntook turns to engage the participants on issues relating to University\neducation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
