The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG), Rt. Rev. Prof. Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante paid a day\u2019s working visit to the Head Office of the Presbyterian University College, Ghana (PUCG) on the 26th<\/sup> of June, 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rt. Rev. Prof. J.O.Y. Mante said the visit was to offer him a first-hand assessment of how the University was observing the COVID-19 Protocols upon the Government of Ghana\u2019s directive for final year university students to return to campus to complete their various programmes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Rt. Rev. Prof. Mante commended the University for the strict adherence to the protocols at both on Campus and the hostels, saying he was satisfied with what he had seen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Moderator was also happy that the Management of the University has put in place credible measures for the final year students to take their examinations online as face to face interactions between students and supervisors are meant to fine-tune their project work for presentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rt. Rev. Prof. Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante inspected the construction of a hostel facility at the Okwahu Campus which is been supported by the PCG. The project is expected to be completed by August 2021 for inauguration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Welcoming the Moderator and his team, the President of PUCG, Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Adow Obeng thanked the Moderator for the visit and the Church\u2019s support to the University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said, though the COVID-19 pandemic has adversely affected the finances of the University, the Management has been able to ensure full payment of salaries to all workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He assured the Moderator that in order to ensure that students and faculty are protected against the COVID-19, a lot of academic work are being done online including lectures for students pursuing Masters programmes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The President of PUCG informed the Moderator that to improve online teaching and library services, the University is migrating onto the GARNET platform which will ensure excellent internet facility for the University. He said the equipment were being fixed for the final stage of the migration which will be completed in two months\u2019 time.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Moderator, who was accompanied by the Kwahu Presbytery Chairperson, Director of Education \u2013 PCG Head Office, and the Public Relations Officer of PCG donated quantities paper towels, liquid soap, alcohol based hand rubs and face masks to the University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Adow Obeng, receiving the items on behalf of the University thanked the Moderator and said it will augment those received from the Government of Ghana and those procured by the University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
