The Alumni Association of the Presbyterian University College, Ghana (PUCG) led by the President, Mrs. Anita Ampofoa Amoako-Gyimah and the Vice President, Mr. James Aggrey commissioned the re-roofing of some structures at the Akuapem campus for work to commence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Acting Dean of the Faculty of Development Studies, Rev. Dr. Benzies Adu-Okoree indicated that infrastructural development is one of the critical areas the University is paying attention to. The buildings on the Akuapem campus, according to him received the latest refurbishment in 2004 before the start of the campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rev. Dr. Benzies Adu-Okoree disclosed that the building that used to house the headmaster of the first middle school in Akropong was converted to a Faculty space, the dormitory which used to be a wooden story-building had the first floor cleared and roofed to house the main block of the university. The library for the Campus is situated in the old-chapel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In her submission at the short ceremony, Ms. Ampofoa indicated that the objectives of the association stand at bringing support to its members, extending support to the current student to make their stay on campus enjoyable, as well as contributing to the needs of the University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to her, it is based on this objectives that the Alumni Association led by its executives has chosen to begin a facelift project to the infrastructural needs of the Akuapem Campus. The project will be undertaken in phases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Alumni President, Mrs. Anita Amoako-Gyimah presented a cheque of GHC10,000.00 to undertake the re-roofing of the Faculty offices and Lecture blocks. Rev. Dr. Benzie Adu-Okoree received the cheque on behalf of the University. The total cost of re-roofing the two structures is estimated at GH35,000.00 while the general cost including re-roofing of Science Lab, Administration block, library and washrooms is about \u00a295,000.00.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The President of the Alumni Association drew the attention of people present and invited all alumni to the upcoming event of the Alumni Association from 4th<\/sup> to 6th<\/sup> March, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program is a homecoming event coupled with a fundraising dinner and awards night. The program is targeting reuniting the Alumni, encouraging the present students, awarding deserving Alumni members and raising funds to support the infrastructural needs of the University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Acting Dean on behalf of the University Management extended appreciation of the University to the Alumni Association for their efforts and requested all Alumni of the university to be involved in its development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
