The Presbyterian University, Ghana (PUG) admitted more females than males for the 2022\/2023 academic year. The University admitted 915 applicants across six Faculties, Law, Health and Medical Sciences, Education, Development Studies, Science and Technology and School of Business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Out of the 915 applicants admitted, 584 are females representing 63.8 percent while male representation stands at 36.2 percent (331).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is an improvement over 2021\/2022 intake of students which had 419 females representing 59.7 percent of the 702 applicants admitted unto various undergraduate programmes run at the University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2022\/2023 academic year intake of 915 undergraduate applicants represents 23.3 percent increment over the 2021\/2022 academic year admission of 702 applicants into the University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addressing the matriculants at the University\u2019s 20th<\/sup> matriculation ceremony, the President of PUG, Prof Ebenezer Oduro Owusu said the girl child education policy to give equal opportunities to the girl child is yielding results and must be commended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The President also disclosed that the Presbyterian University, Ghana\u2019s policy of offering equal opportunity and access to all has contributed to the current high female admissions into the University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The President said the University was thankful to all guardians, parents and families for allowing their children to pursue tertiary education at PUG and assured that the University will impart knowledge to the students and also \u201cinstil the critical values of truth, honesty, integrity, discipline and faith in God.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
