The Chancellor of the Presbyterian University, Ghana (PUG), Rt. Rev. Prof. J. O. Y. Mante charged graduates at the fifth Graduation Ceremony of the School of Graduate Studies to turn their paper qualifications into tangible reality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThese certificates you receive today are meaningless and not worth the paper on which it is written unless you can turn these paper qualifications into tangible reality,\u201d the Chancellor said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rt. Rev. Prof. Mante admonished the graduates to demonstrate the difference between them and any other graduates because they are products and beneficiaries of the Presbyterian education system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou have a responsibility to prove to everyone that your postgraduate Degree has made you a problem solver,\u201d he indicated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The graduates become the first to have their certificates bear the name of the Presbyterian University, Ghana after the University received a Presidential Charter and became a fully-fledged University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Presbyterian Formal Education<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chancellor of PUG who is also the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) emphasised the focus of PCG formal education to be holistic that seeks to develop the whole being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Chancellor \u201cthe focus of education is targeted at the head, the heart, and the hand \u2013 the hands for work and skill development, the head for knowledge acquisition, and the hearts for the gospel.\u201d  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He urged the graduates to become good ambassadors of the University and help the University recruit more students and also support the infrastructural development of their Alma mater.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Developments<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Moderator of the PCG assured the University of the Church\u2019s commitment to supporting infrastructural development as it works to make the Asante Akyem campus a Medical School as well as getting the proposed Accra Campus become operational.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI can assure you that the Church will not relent in its efforts to get the University seated at its rightful place among the league of Universities,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
