7th Academic Seminar

The Faculty of Development Studies of the Presbyterian University College, Ghana has held its 7th Academic Seminar. The main aims for the Academic Seminar are to educate, inform and improve the standard of research in the University.

The forum which was under the chairmanship of Mr. Richard Amfo-Otu was to allow Faculty members to present the results of their research findings to the general public.

In a speech read by the Vice President, Prof Frank S. Arku, on behalf of the College President, Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Adow Obeng, said there is the need to use research to inform teaching.

He expressed his satisfaction about the choice of the theme “Sustainable Development Goals – The Role of Research” and encouraged participants to criticize constructively to improve upon presentations.

Rev. George Opare Kwapong, the Chairman of Akuapem Presbytery, graced the occasion as the guest of honor. He was happy with the work done by the researchers and emphasized that the research should extend to the church.

In attendance were one hundred and twenty (120) participants. These included PUCG students, and Staff from Benkum and Aburi Girls Senior High School.
