PUCG Inaugurates New Computer Lab

The Okwahu Campus of the Presbyterian University College, Ghana has inaugurated a 60-seat capacity Computer Laboratory intended to facilitate effective and efficient teaching of ICT as well as promoting research activities of Staff and Students of the University.

The President of PUCG, Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Adow Obeng who commissioned the ICT Centre thanked the Management of the University for facilitating the set up of the Computer Lab. He was full of praise for Mr. David Adamah who was responsible for the fixing of the computers and accessories, installation of the computers and the networking of the computer lab.

A prayer of dedication was said by the Acting Chaplain and PRO of the University, Rev. Joseph Kofi Antwi.

With the availability of the new ICT centre, the President implored the ICT Department to work assiduously to increase student enrolment for the ICT programme as well as running Short Certificate Courses to ensure that the University reaps the full benefits of the facility.

Responding, the Head of Department for ICT, Mr. Eric Asiedu thanked the Management of the University for the Facility and assured them that the Camputer Laboratory would be put into good use. He stated that Short Certificate Courses have been designed already and would commence in June 2016.

Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Adow Obeng promised that a bigger computer lab will be commissioned soon at the Asante-Akyem Campus for the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences as part of the University’s efforts at improving existing infrastructure and equipment to enhance the delivery of the institution’s academic mandate across the campuses.

Also present at the inauguration ceremony were the Vice President, Registrar, Deputy Registrar, Dean of Students, Deans, Assistant Registrars, Lecturers, Administrative Staff and Students.
