The Management of Presbyterian University College, Ghana (PUCG) held a meeting with Senior Members of the University to brief them about the new educational reforms being implemented by the Ministry of Education.
The Senior Members comprised Faculty and Administration from all the five campuses of the University.
The President of PUCG, Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Adow Obeng, who chaired the Centralised Admissions and Placement Services (CAPS), setup by the Ministry of Education to develop a Centralized University Admissions in Ghana, interacted with the Senior Members about the reforms.
Rev. Prof. Adow Obeng briefed the members on the Public Universities Act which is before the Parliament of Ghana; the Centralised Admissions and Placement Services (CAPS); National Research Innovation Fund; the new required qualification for University Lecturers by the National Accreditation Board and others.
The Registrar, Mrs. Mary Abena Agyepong implored the Senior Members to support Management as it strategizes to reposition the University in line with the new educational reforms.
She noted that such support will help the institution to continue to be a leading private university in Ghana.
Other reforms included the reorientation of some Public Universities and the introduction of an Open University in the country.
