CCPD 19th Edition of Online Certificate Programme, September. 2025

 The Presbyterian University, Ghana (PUG), Centre for Continuous Professional Development (CCPD) is organizing 3 weeks of intensive online certificate courses from Monday, September 22 to October 9, 20252025.   Lectures will be organised online from Monday to Thursday, from 6 pm GMT to 9 pm GMT.   

The cost per programme is GH¢1000 per local participant, and US$ 200 per international participant. PUG alumni, PUG students, and Presbyterians will have a 25 % discount. The courses are as follows:


  • Certificate in Generative AI for Academic Research

Rationale

Generative AI is transforming academic research by enhancing productivity, creativity, and efficiency in literature review, data analysis, academic writing, peer-review, and dissemination of knowledge. Researchers can now leverage tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and domain-specific AI systems to draft proposals, analyze datasets, and generate insights faster. However, without structured training, researchers risk issues such as plagiarism, hallucination, data bias, and ethical misuse.This program aims to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and ethical guidelines to responsibly integrate generative AI into research processes.

Goal  

To provide participants with theoretical understanding and hands-on competence in applying generative AI tools across the research lifecycle, while emphasizing ethical use, critical evaluation, and academic integrity.

Rationale

Understanding and managing children and adolescents who are experiencing difficulties with their emotions or behaviour can be challenging for parents, caregivers, and teachers. Research indicates that many parents, teachers, and caregivers have little knowledge of child and adolescent psychotherapy

Goal

The goal of this programme is to equip participants with the necessary skills to assist children and families in understanding children, knowing the challenges they face, assisting them to resolve their problems and effecting behaviour modification through a participatory approach.
