PUG Celebrates Significant Milestone at 19th Congregation

The Presbyterian University, Ghana (PUG) has achieved a landmark milestone at the 19th Congregation ceremony held on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at the Sam Prempheh Hall of the Ramseyer Training Centre, Abetifi.

Addressing the Congregation, the Vice Chancellor, Professor John Ofosu-Anim, was excited to announce that this year’s graduation figure of 814 reflects the University’s steady growth and the success of its academic reforms and student support initiatives.

He attributed the achievement to the University’s strategic focus on innovation, faculty development, and student-centred learning. “Our academic and administrative teams have worked tirelessly to sustain excellence, ensuring that every PUG graduate leaves here not only with knowledge but with values that promote discipline, service, and leadership,” he emphasised.

Prof. Ofosu-Anim continued to commend the graduands for their dedication, perseverance, and discipline throughout their academic journey. He admonished them to step out into the world, remembering the values of Excellence, Discipline, Commitment, Integrity and Faith in God which the University has instilled in them.

In addition, the Vice-Chancellor challenged the graduating class to lead the fight against environmental pollution and degradation. He described it as the defining battle of their generation. He urged them to use their knowledge and skills to protect the planet.

Highlighting the growing dangers of plastic waste, illegal mining, and air pollution, which he described as major threats to the nation. Prof. Ofosu-Anim reminded the graduands that the future of Ghana and the world rests on their commitment to protecting the environment for future generations.

Concluding his speech, the Vice Chancellor hinted that  “We are strengthening our research capacity and expanding partnerships to ensure that Presbyterian University, Ghana, continues to compete globally while remaining grounded in our Christian ethos.
