Presbyterian University, Ghana (PUG), through its accredited Faculty of Law, is pleased to announce the introduction of the Pre-Bar Programme, a significant pathway established under Ghana’s new legal education reforms to prepare LL.B. graduates for professional legal training.
As one of the accredited institutions authorized to run the Pre-Bar Programme, Presbyterian University, Ghana is committed to providing quality legal education that equips future lawyers with the knowledge, skills, and ethical foundation required for successful legal practice.
WHAT IS THE PRE-BAR COURSE?
The Pre-Bar course is a one-year transitional programme designed to bridge the gap between the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree and the Law Practice Training (LPT) Programme. It forms part of Ghana’s legal education reforms aimed at expanding access to professional legal training while maintaining high academic and professional standards.
The programme provides students with advanced legal instruction and practical preparation necessary for progression into professional legal training and ultimately qualification as a lawyer.
WHO CAN APPLY?
Applications are invited from:
- Graduates holding an LL.B. degree from accredited universities.
- Final-year LL.B. students awaiting graduation.
- Presbyterian University Ghana LL.B Alumni
- LL.B. graduates seeking progression into professional legal training under the new legal education framework.

CAREER AND PROFESSIONAL PATHWAY
Successful completion of the Pre-Bar Programme prepares graduates for entry into the Law Practice Training (LPT) Programme and subsequent qualification for the National Bar Examination, leading to Call to the Bar.
