The Presbyterian University, Ghana has obtained accreditation to run Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Emergency and Disaster Management programme. The programme offers the following:
Aim of the Programme
The aim of the programme is to train learners to become professionals who would have better knowledge and improved skill-set for emergency and disaster management practice.
Entry Requirements into the M.Sc. Emergency and Disaster Management Programme
A candidate seeking admission into a M.Sc. Emergency and Disaster Management programme must:
- have obtained a good first degree in relevant discipline (at least a Second-Class Lower Division) such as Geography, Engineering, Planning, Development Studies, Architecture, Migration and Gender Studies, Sociology, Building and Construction, and other programmes from an accredited University; or
Special Admissions
- A Third-Class degree or Pass in relevant discipline such as Geography, Engineering, Planning, Development Studies, Architecture, Migration and Gender Studies, Sociology, Building and Construction, and other programmes with at least three years working experience (Such candidate would be admitted after passing a selection interview).
- In special cases an applicant who does not have a first degree but is adjudged suitable may be admitted into the programme. Such an applicant must:
- Have special knowledge and some years of working experience in a relevant field of work
- Have a Diploma in the relevant field of study
- Be at least 40 years of age.
- Submit a transcript of his/her academic records.
- Pass a selection interview.
- International applicants who obtained their first degrees other than accredited Ghanaian Institutions, would seek equivalence from the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) before admission will be granted.
