Online Short Certificate Programme [ August 2022 Edition]

Centre for Continuous Professional Development (CCPD) is organizing 6 weeks of online certificate courses from Friday 26 August, 2022 to Saturday October 1, 2022. Lectures will be held online on Fridays, from 3 pm GMT to 6 pm GMT and Saturdays, from 10 am GMT to 1 pm GMT.

The cost per programme is ¢600 per local participant and US$ 120 per international participant. PUCG alumni, PUCG students and Presbyterians will have a 25 % discount.

  1. Certificate in Emotional Intelligence

Rationale

Every interaction in our lives, including those with our family, neighbors, and coworkers, is fundamentally based on emotions. When emotions are proactive and well-managed, they can enhance our lives. On the other side, unchecked emotions can override reason and logic. This may lead to decisions that people may later regret and that may harm our lives. In order to succeed in our endeavours, it is crucial that we cultivate our emotional intelligence talents. Therefore, the purpose of this course is to aid participants in developing and strengthening their emotional intelligence competencies.

Goal

 The goal of this course is to enhance participants’ ability to manage emotions for productivity.

 Rationale

  Understanding and managing children and adolescents who are experiencing difficulties with their emotions or behaviour can be challenging for parents, caregivers and teachers. Research indicates that a lot of parents, teachers, and caregivers have little knowledge of child and adolescent psychotherapy.

Goal

The goal of this programme is to equip participants with the skills necessary to assist children and families in understanding themselves; knowing the challenges they face; assisting them to resolve their problems; and effecting behaviour modification through a participatory approach.

The rationale of the course to expose participants to credit & portfolio risk management function which has changed dramatically in today dynamic business environment. The function has expanded beyond its previous focus on lending management activities. In modern organizations, the credit practitioner is expected to add value to the business by designing and aligning credit risk models, systems and policies with corporate goals and strategies.

The programme is uniquely designed to prepare participants to understand credit and portfolio management through rigorous risk assessment, effective monitoring and control to ensure effective management of credit in an organization.

  • To expose participants to the fundamental concepts of credit risk for different market participants e.g. bank lender, fixed income investor, credit insurer
  • To expose participants to review the various techniques used to manage and measure credit risk within a portfolio and to understand the key drivers of credit risk.

  •  To assist participants to identify the financing needs of clients, conduct risk assessment and evaluate the performance of credit acquisition on commercial lending and make appropriate recommendation for approval;
  • To expose participants to understand default dependence and the tail of portfolio loss distribution through using the Gaussian Latent Variable Model and explain Monte Carlo Simulation of credit losses;
  • To equip participants to identify the credit policy, procedures and process, and understand risk measures, including Credit VaR, CS01/CR01, market value shocks, and scenario analysis, as well as how to identify limit structures for controlling risk.
