Presbyterian University, Ghana (PUG) has successfully held its 2026 Staff Retreat from 2nd to 4th September 2026 at the Okwahu Campus, Abetifi, under the theme “Rising Strong Together: Repositioning for Greater Impact,” with scriptural references from Isaiah 54:2–5 and John 5:1–9.
The Three-day retreat brought together staff from across the University for a period of spiritual renewal, reflection, fellowship and strategic engagement.

A major highlight was the Vice-Chancellor’s presentation on “2026 in Focus: Accelerating Progress Toward Agenda 2029,” which challenged staff to renew their commitment to the University’s strategic direction and contribute meaningfully to its continued growth.
The retreat also featured thematic talks on the Theme, discussions on general staff issues, a Senior and Junior Staff Forum, Election of the Board of Convocation, interaction with Management, social activities, and a presentation on the University’s Statutes and Policies.

As part of the retreat’s activities, Emple Pensions Trust Ghana Ltd., formerly known as Metropolitan, celebrated 10 years of partnership with Presbyterian University, Ghana. The celebration featured a cake-cutting ceremony and the presentation of a citation to the University in recognition of the longstanding partnership. The session also provided an opportunity to explain the company’s transition from Metropolitan Pension Trust Fund to Emple Pensions Trust Ghana Ltd., reflecting its rebranding and renewed corporate identity.
The programme culminated in a Thanksgiving and Covenant Service themed “Restoring Community Through Grace, Unity and Accountability for Greater Impact,” featuring worship, scripture readings, a sermon, Holy Communion and the Covenant Service. The Covenant Service and Holy Communion was led by Rev. Prof. Benzies Isaac Adu Okoree.
This year’s retreat provided a valuable platform for staff to reconnect, reflect on their shared responsibilities, and strengthen their commitment to building a united and purpose-driven Presbyterian University, Ghana community as the University advances towards Agenda 2029.
