On Tuesday, 4th August 2026, The Presbyterian University, Ghana welcomed a delegation from GCB Bank PLC for a strategic engagement aimed at exploring a potential collaboration on the provision of Co-Branded Student Identification and Payment Cards for students of the University.

Chaired by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. John Ofosu-Anim, the meeting brought together members of the University’s Management, key Registry officials, student affairs representatives, the Okwahu Campus SRC President, and representatives of GCB Bank PLC.
During the engagement, the GCB Bank team delivered a comprehensive presentation introducing the proposed co-branded card solution. The presentation highlighted the card’s potential to serve as both an official student identification card and a secure payment card, offering students greater convenience in accessing banking services while supporting the University’s drive towards digital transformation.

The interactive session provided an opportunity for Management and other stakeholders to seek clarification on the features, benefits, implementation process, and operational requirements of the proposed initiative. Discussions also focused on how the collaboration could enhance student experience through secure identification, seamless financial transactions, and improved campus service delivery.
The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to continue discussions and explore the feasibility of the partnership, with both institutions expressing optimism about the opportunities such a collaboration could bring to the Presbyterian University community.
